Position Summary

The Manager, Learning & Development - Clinical Solutions (CS) will support the identification of training needs, as well as coordinate with business level subject matter experts (SME) to develop and deliver training solutions to support the global CS related functions. CS related functions include but are not limited to areas of clinical operations, project management, good clinical practices, data management, drug safety and regulatory/compliance. The manager will act as a first line to triage requests from the business for training materials or templates. The Manager needs to have sufficient expertise in the Cs function to engage with SMEs and occasionally function as a role specific SME. The incumbent will coordinate the overall on-boarding process for new employees, as well as manage technology platforms that support the learning function. Must maintain clear and consistent communications with team members, clients and L&D leadership.

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
  • Create training materials, present in-person training sessions, monitor training for effectiveness
  • Organize, coordinate and deliver effective new hire on-boarding training including ambassador assignments
  • Implement various learning methodologies globally (e.g. coaching, job-shadowing, online training)
  • Design and deliver e-learning courses, workshops and other trainings
  • Select and book venues
  • Keep attendance, electronic documentation and other records for training sessions, seminars, workshops, individual training sessions, etc.
  • Triage incoming requests for potential trainings or current training tools and templates from clients
  • Management of technology platforms used to support the learning function
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management
Minimum Required

Qualifications:
  • Graduate, postgraduate, 4-year college degree, or equivalent experience ideally in a scientific or healthcare discipline.
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of clinical trial experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology or CRO and/or healthcare setting, of which 4 years must include roles directly related to the management of site performance in accordance with clinical trial execution
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Strong writing and recordkeeping abilities
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple complex projects
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships with individual and teams internally and externally
  • Core understanding of medical terminology and clinical trial activities in relation to execution of a clinical development
  • Knowledge of ICH/GCP as relates to clinical trial management
  • Ability to travel (includes overnight travel)
Preferred
  • Previous experience as corporate trainer with a track record in designing and executing successful training programs
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS), and e-learning software skills is an asset
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods instructional design and adult learning theories

  • Able to communicate in an effective, global/multicultural manner, where English may be a secondary language
  • Highly motivated and inquisitive; concise, articulate and creative
  • Extremely collaborative, a team player
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to see and work towards a big picture
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced, always-on, quickly-changing environment and deadline driven
