Honeywell is looking for an experienced Project Engineer who will deliver working solutions for fast prototypes, demonstration, and production-style environments. The successful candidate will also have experience providing technical direction for the development, engineering, integration, and testing of complex mechanical / optical / electrical / software / environmental / and control systems. The successful candidate will partner with world class scientists, engineering's and leaders to implement product strategies, develop program schedules and milestones, define technology roadmaps, and drive improvements in engineering quality and productivity. They will be the technical leader and be the primary decision maker for program cost, schedule and technical issues. They will lead a team in the prioritization of work packages, design goals and objectives, and drive overall program performance.

The candidate will provide systems, software and electrical engineering methods and artifacts to help innovate and advance the state-of-the-art.

In this role, you will lead project engineering efforts for cryogenic research and development projects, and will assist in developing new concepts, writing project proposals, and developing new technologies for future products.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage requirements from elicitation, definition/capture, decomposition, allocation, prioritization, tracking, traceability, test mapping and derived identification.
  • Utilize system and software modeling tools and techniques to including SySML, Case Modeling, Matlab/SimuLink, DOORS and TeamCenter
  • Analyze and study complex system requirements, and resolve conflicting customer requirements
  • Must be able to span multiple domains, such as application, mechanical, optical, electrical, laser, software, thermal, vacuum, etc.
  • Understand testing procedures for life-cycle development phase gates, identifying and tracking design errors and defects
  • Develop documentation required for both technical and training requirements
  • Drive project development, performance, and delivery
  • Work with functional leaders to prioritize resources and implement project objectives
  • Provide technical direction, coaching and mentoring to project team members
  • Coordinate equipment and material procurement
  • Use your strategic thinking to help establish and implement direction for new business opportunities, products and processes
  • Lead new project proposal estimation development and analysis

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years of Systems/Software/Project Engineering background
  • U.S. citizenship required in order to obtain and maintain government security clearance

WE VALUE

  • Master's degree or PhD in Systems Engineering, Software Engineer, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency with MatLab, LabView, ANSYS, ProE, SolidWorks, and/or toolpath
  • Experience with CONOPS development
  • Experience in software development life cycle
  • Experience with a wide variety of software coding languages and interface protocols
  • Experience in performing system audits to ensure intended system functionality, operation and performance requirements are achieved
  • Proactive and resourceful self-starter, with ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, both verbal and written
