Starting AND Training pay: $17.84/hr.

Must be at least 21 years of age, possess valid Driver's License with adequate driving record, and be able to commit to 1 week of PAID training.

The Paratransit (STRIDE) Bus/Van Operator operates DTA paratransit (STRIDE) buses/vans in a manner that is safe, provides for a comfortable ride and maintains scheduled trips. The Paratransit Bus/Van Operator also provides customers with courteous and attentive service. The Paratransit Bus/Van Operator also performs clerical functions and provides information regarding the performance of the overall on-street operations of the DTA paratransit (STRIDE) system.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Must be at least 21 years of age, possess valid Driver's License with adequate driving record, and be able to commit to 1 week of PAID training.

 

·         Must have the ability to safely and efficiently operate and maneuver buses/vans in an urban environment under all types of traffic and weather conditions.

 

·         Must have the ability to read and interpret written operational memoranda and complete all necessary forms in a legible manner.

 

·         Must have excellent verbal communications skills. Must be able to verbally communicate service information in a clear, concise and understandable manner. Must have the ability to effectively deal with large numbers of customers of diverse ages, services, needs and expectations.

 

·         Must successfully complete the DTA New Paratransit Bus Operator Training Program.
