Duties & Responsibilities

Wang lab is looking for a part-time, non-benefitted candidate. The lab research focuses on large-scale proteomics using liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS-MS). The successful candidate is expected to have experience in molecular biology skills. The candidate will disseminate the results of his/her work in the form of manuscripts and conference presentations.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in molecular biology or a related field.
  • Experience with recording and presentation skills.
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$12 per hour

Work Schedule/Start Date

Up to 40 hours per week.

The candidate will work in Dr. Wang lab, which has 300 square feet on the 2nd floor of Starcher Hall. The candidate will communicate results with Dr. Wang through email and discuss any issues via Zoom. To ensure proper lab hygiene and prevent the spread of COVID-19, Dr. Wang will provide adequate supplies (e.g., soap, hand sanitizer, and paper towels), remind the candidate to wash their hands, and clean work areas and objects with task wipes (kimwipes) moistened with 70% ethanol before and after working. Along with this, standard CDC mitigation strategies will also be followed: (1) if the candidate is showing any symptoms of COVID-19 or has interacted with a known carrier, He/she will be asked to stay home and limit contact with individuals; (2)  The candidate will be asked to use surgical face masks or cloth face coverings to protect others in the public area; and (3) the candidate will be restricted to sharing of computers and other objects, and will be required to clean and disinfect between use. The candidate will also follow UND “Required Procedures for Employees” (circulated on 4-7-20) and all other directives posted on UND’s Coronavirus Updates blog (available here: http://blogs.und.edu/coronavirus/cases/).
