Position Description & Details:

This position provides coordination and management for public health education in the Department of Public Health (DPH). Primary functions of this position are to assist with managing, marketing, and evaluating public health programs; assist in coordinating curriculum and provide direct student services for the program; provide specialized and responsible coordination of the programs using independent judgment and creative efforts; assist in the development of new projects. Serve as lead for academic recruitment and relationship building from prospective students through alumni. Serve as a lecturer for applicable courses in public health or related fields including teaching PH 101 Introduction to Public Health and PH 474 Epidemiology.

Currently, the Department of Public Health has 7 full-time faculty members and 14 research and administrative staff. There are 25-30 MPH students that matriculate each year, with approximately 30% using the distance learning option. The department houses two research centers: the American Indian Public Health Resource Center (AIPHRC) and the Center for Immunization Research and Education (CIRE), as well as several Maternal Child Health projects. The Department of Public Health is located in the College of Health Professions, where it benefits from strong relationships with the School of Nursing and the School of Pharmacy. Advertised Salary:

$55,000+ commensurate with experience

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in health-related field
  • Experience working with college students in a campus environment, specifically related to recruitment or admissions
  • Experience using a learning management system (e.g. Blackboard, Moodle)
  • 1+ yrs experience working in high paced, diverse, and technology driven, 21st century office skills
  • Fluency in MS Office suite; G Suite; email and instant messenger platforms; internet; and electronic calendaring systems.
  • Appropriate interpersonal/oral/written communication skills including diplomacy required for working with a diverse population.
  • Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
  • Detailed oriented; maintains all department outputs are accurate

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Public Health degree or Certified in Public Health credential
  • Teaching experience; college-level preferred
  • Ability to anticipate needs and work proactively
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks and projects in parallel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
