Foth Infrastructure and Environment, LLC is currently seeking a team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented Lead Environmental Engineer / Project Manager who has a desire to contribute to our clients' success and is looking for new learning experiences and opportunities for career growth. This position will be working out of one of our Midwest office locations (Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, Minneapolis, Duluth, or Chicago) in a flexible fashion.

Primary Responsibilities:
    • Manage mining, ports and harbors and other environmental projects; deliver projects within budget, schedule, quality, and contractual commitments
    • Lead multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists
    • Manage the planning, development, and execution of projects
    • Lead federal, state, and local permitting efforts
    • Assemble project teams and monitor project performance while mentoring and coaching team members
    • Negotiate scope change orders with clients and subcontractors
    • Work with client operations to assist with creating proposals and cultivating client relationships
    • Provide hands-on technical engineering for ports and harbors and mining projects (issue identification and resolution, project team leadership, delivery of projects within scope, schedule, and budget, technical quality, etc.)
    • Provide engineering leadership to teams, systems, and oversee processes to complete projects with high quality and on-time and provide input for continuous improvements
    • Attend client meetings, participate in proposals and presentations, attend trade shows, meet with regulatory agencies, and serve as primary contact for clients regarding solid waste projects
    • Proactively identify client needs and initiate activities to ensure those needs are addressed
    • Demonstrate technical knowledge as a lead engineer for multiple large-scale projects of a complex, multi-discipline nature including facility construction, permitting, and operation.
    • Coach and mentor junior engineers to develop their technical skills
    • Negotiate scope change orders with clients and subcontractors
    • Maintain all licenses and certifications in good standing


Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Mine Engineering, or applicable technical discipline
    • 10 years of experience working with complex projects of varying size and scope
    • 5 years of experience managing mining projects including preparation of scoping and trade-off studies, feasibility studies, permitting related documents, and natural resource assessments
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to acquire within 6 months)
    • Working knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements and standards for design of waste facilities and emerging regulatory issues
    • Positive working relationships with federal and/or state regulators on permitting and compliance of waste facilities


Preferred Qualifications:
    • 15+ years of experience working in the consulting engineering industry
    • Professional registration or certification in project management
    • Previous experience developing project opportunities
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
    • 10 years of experience working in the engineering consulting industry
    • Geotechnical Engineering experience
    • Materials management experience
