Job Scope:

As an Engineering Project Leader, reporting to the Sustaining Engineering Manager, you will lead cross-functional project teams to complete Sustaining/Technical Cost Out engineering projects from planning through implementation.

This position is for someone who is goal driven and enjoys working in a dedicated cross-functional team environment. The primary scope of this role includes:

* Project Scoping & Planning
* General Project Management (forming project teams, budgeting, assigning & tracking tasks, identify & mitigating project risks, etc.)
* Lean and Continuous Improvement Initiatives
* Review of Design Inputs and Outputs
* Working with suppliers to implement design changes
* Implement designs into Agile and JDE
* Manage implementation of Sustaining/TCO projects into Service and Operations
* Mechanical design updates when required

Key Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibilities will be to effectively organize and lead cross-functional project teams using your project management skills. Using your strong planning, organization, and collaboration skills, you will independently manage a diverse scope of projects with limited supervision. The Sustaining/TCO projects may include, projects aimed at enhancing product features of current products to ensure customer satisfaction, addressing quality issues, maintaining on-going manufacturing line support, and reducing costs.

You will plan, monitor and coordinate project tasks, as well as maintain and update project plans and schedules. You will direct the activities of internal and external team members to meet project objectives. You will also implement design changes into production for current products and provide consultation support of other engineering projects. In addition, you will proactively engage in ongoing process improvements and standard work lean office activities.

An appropriate candidate must be a flexible, self-directed, organized, dependable, proactive, and persistent project leader. He or she must effectively plan and manage projects, lead and coach project team members, solve problems, and make decisions with limited direction.

Required Background:

* 7 years of applied project management experience managing large scale projects or programs
* Bachelor's degree
* Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate with a diverse group of cross-functional stakeholders in Marketing, R&D, QA, Regulatory, Sourcing, and Operations.
* Well-versed in Medical Device Design Controls.
* Strong communication skills and attention to details

Desired Background:

* Technical/Engineering Degree preferred
* Applied experience with Microsoft Project as well as other Office Suite applications
* Prior SAP experience (including DIRs, BOMs, and Engineering Changes)
* Project Management Professional (PMP certification)
