Position Overview & Responsibilities

The Security Analyst position will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting foundational security tools and disciplines at Christensen Farms. Foundational areas of security responsibility include Identity, Privileged Access, Vulnerability, End Point, Data Security, Privacy, Security Reporting, and associated User Support. The position is also responsible for executing projects and technology deployments within the company as part of a project team. This position will collaborate in the evaluation and deployment of long-term technology strategies that continually improve our overall security posture and maturity, ensuring that Christensen Farms maintains an appropriate and secure environment for a large-scale producer in the pork industry.

Major Areas of Accountability

-Ensure foundational security tools are performing to business and security requirements. Including routine maintenance of applications and first level security tool support.

- Monitor security events and technology use across the company to confirm operational security and rapid detection of any security incidents.

-Perform incident investigation and incident response following defined procedures and incident response playbooks. Recommend revisions or process improvements to defined playbooks and procedures.

-Perform, and assist with, security testing and assessments. This includes monthly, quarterly annual, and ad-hoc cycles. Testing categories include phishing, penetration, audits, and other security related assessments.

- Create, revise, and distribute end user security documents to continually increase our overall security awareness. Document types include user guides, quick reference sheets, bulletins, newsletters, and best practice communications.

- Obtain, document, and deliver all security reporting requirements. This includes monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reports and metrics.

-Ensure all security documentation is up to date, filed and distributed throughout the company.

- Automate key duties and responsibilities to ensure resources can be allocated to individual security education and opportunities to continually improve our security posture.

- Research security tools and disciplines and recommend security improvements for team or company consideration.

-Other duties assigned within the scope, responsibility, and requirements of the job.

Education, Training and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum formal education required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of certifications and experience.
  • 2 years of experience in a corporate IT Team environment.
  • Desire to become a cyber security subject matter expert by working with and learning from technology and security mentors within the company and industry.
  • Clear, concise, and precise written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds including non-technical audiences.
  • Strong solution-oriented approach to team problem solving.
  • Ability to multi-task and to prioritize objectives, anticipate situations and take quick action.
  • Computer skills required: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Visio

Additional Desirable Skills/Qualifications

  • Certifications in any of the following are a plus: IT security (CISSP, CompTIA, etc.), ITIL.
  • Experience in NIST Cyber Security Framework.
  • Experience in Level 1 and/or Level 2 user support (Freshservice or similar ITSM tool).
  • Cloud technologies (Public, Private, Dedicated, Hybrid).
  • Networking including Routing and Switching (Cisco, Meraki) and Wireless technologies.
  • Enterprise Server (Windows Server 2012 or higher, Red Hat Linux, Active Directory Domains) and Virtualization platforms (Microsoft Azure, VMWare, Hyper-V).
  • End user computing devices including Windows, Android, and iOS.
  • Experience with physical security or bio-security programs and tools.
