System One is currently seeking a Designer on a 12-month contract position located in Fargo, ND.

This position will be with our client, a utility holding company serving more than 3.3 million electric customers and 1.8 million natural gas customers.

Designer Responsibilities:

  • Contract Designer position at our Fargo Service Center that will handle/lead the gas and electric service design workload for the Fargo, Grand Forks and Minot service territory
  • Work closely with builders, electricians and heating contractors to coordinate and schedule gas and electric service installs
  • Creating new residential service Work Orders for our crews (new gas or electric service request), scheduling the work, daily communication with builders, heating contractors and electricians to ensure site readiness

Designer Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED, post-secondary education (preferred)
  • Possibly 2 to 3 weeks of on the job training at the Fargo SC, then start working remotely
  • Utility background, basic understanding of electric or natural gas will be helpful
  • Able to multitask, willing and wants to learn, good communication skills, self-starter, organizational skills, strong work ethic, team player, being able to perform day-to day workload with little supervision (preferred)
  • No major travel, there will be occasional visits to job sites or crews visit in the Fargo area???95% of the time will be spent at their office
  • There will be a good chance that OT will be required during the spring and fall rush seasons, plan on 10 hours per week during the busy spring and fall season
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • Must have strong knowledge of MS Office

Duration: 12-months

Location: Fargo, ND

Pay Rate: $26.74/hr.
