The Administrative Secretary, a full-time, 12-month position, provides specialized administrative support to all of the programs within the NDSU Department of Animal Sciences. The wide range of responsibilities includes, but is not limited to the following:
  • Provide exceptional service and support to students, faculty and staff in meeting the department's mission.
  • Assist with office activities to include upkeep of office equipment, coordinating software orders, maintain supplies, and office communications.
  • Maintain and update the department website and assist with social media content.
  • Act as departmental support for the Veterinary Technology program by answering their phone, assisting with the application and onboarding process of new students, and other duties as needed.
  • Coordinate time slip hires and reported time entry.
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of departmental newsletters.
  • Act as back-up to other administrative staff, and complete other departmental duties as assigned or needed.

Work Schedule: Full-time; 12-month

Advertised Salary: $33,000+/year

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated history of progressive ability and responsibility in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing needs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and the Internet

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Campus Connection/PeopleSoft
  • Experience with website maintenance
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures
