Estimated salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 (depending on qualifications)

Within the Office of Information Technology (OIT), we currently seek a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to support and grow our enterprise data and analytics environment. This position will be focused on creating and maintaining the data models (conceptual, logical and physical) for the University's enterprise data warehouse and creating associated semantic models providing non-IT professionals access to enterprise information. The BI Developer will serve as a member of one or more development or enhancement teams providing a common business vocabulary, capture data requirements, create integrated designs to meet these requirements, and align those designs with enterprise data strategy. Ideal candidates will have excellent technical and interpersonal skills as well as a passion for the University's mission of research, education, and outreach.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models for our enterprise data warehouse.
  • Create user semantic layer structures to provide end users with efficient access to transformed data.
  • Implement data architecture and data governance standards to ensure consistency across subject areas and models.
  • Perform data analysis activities to capture data requirements clearly, completely, and correctly, and represent them through a logical data model.
  • Coordinate with clients, data users and key stakeholders to develop and achieve long- term objectives for data architecture and data quality.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant work experience or a comparable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Experience with data modeling and database design (preferably Oracle 19c or compatible versions).
  • Strong SQL (Structured Query Language) skills.
  • Experience working with data in an enterprise data and analytics environment.
  • Ability to work independently or in a group setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to provide constructive feedback to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with dimensionally and relationally modeled data.
  • Experience working with Oracle RPD or similar tools.
  • Experience with Idera ER Studio or similar tools.
  • Experience working in an agile (e.g. Scrum) environment.
