Strom Engineering Minnesota has an exciting new opening for a Structural Engineer with a great company located in the Minneapolis, MN. Seeking a licensed engineer or with ability to achieve licensure within one year.

Job Summary: Perform structural design tasks for industrial facilities.


Duties:
* Assignments will be varied and can include specification preparation, design and analysis calculations, detail definition, evaluation of existing facilities, construction monitoring or on-site data gathering.

* Foundation design as well as industrial structural systems (steel and concrete).

* Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures, using judgment when making minor adaptations and modifications.

* Use at least one of the industry standard structural analysis programs, e.g. SAAP, RISA, Tekla or similar.

* Use AutoCAD or Revit.

* Provide excellent customer service.



Job Requirements:

Skills/Qualifications :
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering with emphasis on Structural Engineering. Master's degree preferred.

* Professional Engineering registration preferred. If no existing certification, ability to obtain professional licensure within one year.
* 4+ years of experience in structural engineering for industrial applications such as Power, Manufacturing, Petrochemical, Pulp & Paper and/or Mining.

* Minimum 4 years of experience with foundation design as well as industrial structural systems.

* Construction Observation experience, a plus.

* AutoCAD required, Revit a plus.

* Excellent oral and written communications skills.

* Experience working effectively with a multi-disciplined design team(s).

* Must be a creative problem-solver.

* Project Management experience.

* Must have a valid US passport or able to obtain a passport and ability to travel (less than 20%).

* Must be a US Citizen or authorized to work in USA
