Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Do take-offs of architectural plans and specs in order to provide accurate quotes to customers
  • Send out for pricing and manage subcontracts for stone and installation
  • Formulate RFI's to GC and/or architect.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects from inception to delivery, through installation.
  • Analyze job requirements, define scope, and set project timelines for submittals, fabrication, and installation.
  • Review & quality control all submittal/ shop drawings prior to client review.
  • Communicate directly with contractors, architects, vendors, and subcontractors in a professional and timely manner.
  • Know what information needs to be included on the shop drawings, and have the tactful concise writing ability to coordinate this with our customers and employees.
  • Attend meetings as necessary to clarify scope or means of fabrication.
  • Purchase specialty material such as metal, upholstery, glass and other custom components.
  • Coordinate all materials that need to be ordered, and create purchase orders, per vendor.
  • Handle and manage onsite coordination with contractors and subcontractors.
  • Attain and check field measurements, coordinate with other trades to ensure successful installation.
  • Maintain and coordinate material deliveries to ensure project schedules are being met.
  • Prepare pricing and negotiate change orders with the contractor.
  • Drive projects to conclusion on time and on budget while maintaining the standard of quality required by MCS.
  • Addresses and resolves customer issues and complaints.

Supervisory Responsibility:

No direct supervisory duties, though management of projects includes directing project related activities to the project team members.

Preferred Education & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Wood Technology, or related field
  • Knowledge of Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) Standards

Required Education & Skills:

  • 5+ years experience in architectural millwork or similar industry
  • Able to read architectural drawings/ blue prints
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to take initiative

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $52,000.00 per year
