Description

This position will oversee the delivery of marketing, design, and communication needs of the Wellness & Health Promotion department through project management, brand awareness, and program/event promotion. This position will also translate strategic efforts into effective marketing strategies. This position will coordinate effective internal and external communication channels (campus communications, social media, etc.) while overseeing the development of brand-appropriate visual materials utilizing design, photography, and video to promote the mission and values of the department .

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan, including marketing strategies and initiatives for the department and individual program areas, emphasizing a sense of belonging.

Manage print, digital and web content through entire lifecycle, including campaign planning, writing, editing, revising, approving, scheduling, publishing, and reporting.

Collaborate with department team members on the development and design of marketing projects ensuring deadlines are met and goals are achieved.

Direct, uphold, and educates staff to ensure all marketing and communication align with University branding standards, trademark regulations and current marketing strategies.

Manage marketing and communications media for facility (digital displays, Neptune radio, and networked fitness).

Manage the department website to ensure accurate written and digital content, while meeting university website standards and guidelines.

Oversee department social media accounts.

Analyze, evaluate and report campaign effectiveness including web/digital/social media analytics, etc.

Coordinate the design, purchase, and dissemination of branded promotional items.

Direct and supervise the design, procurement, production (including final-product proof) and dissemination of all marketing collateral.

Participate in writing and/or editing departmental content to be utilized in Wellness & Health Promotion printed materials and/or website pages.

Serve as the main liaison between department and the UND Marketing team.

Collaborate with UND’s Marketing & Creative Services to ensure that department goals are aligned with institutional priorities and contribute to UND’s marketing and branding strategies.

Serve as liaison for sponsorship opportunities where relevant.

Responsible for all functions of student digital media specialist team

Collaborate with campus departments to support promotion of department programs and events.

Develop and manage annual budgets for all assigned operational/program areas.

Serve as an active member of department leadership team and any other assigned groups.

Assist in development and execution of strategic and assessment plans.

Assist with assembling information for any Wellness & Health Promotion reports.

Participate in all required mandatory or specialized/safety training.

Use excellent interpersonal skills and abilities to build and maintain relationships with University and community entities.

Model personal wellness habits and support others in their efforts.

Maintain professional knowledge required of the position.

Promote and cultivate an environment that values inclusiveness and diversity.

Required Competencies

  • Background in marketing concepts.

  • Experience with creative design, photography and/or videography.

  • A commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and inclusion.

  • High-level organization and project management skills.

  • Excellent proof-reading and writing skills.

  • Ability to work in a team setting and in a collaborative manner.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with some evening and weekend work.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with major field of study or emphasis in marketing, communications, graphic design, media arts, recreation or other related field.

  • One or more years of professional work experience in marketing, graphic design or communications.

  • Experience using design software (ie: Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, etc.)

  • Must have current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification or be able to obtain within two months of employment

  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree with major field of student or emphasis in marketing, communications, graphic design, media arts, recreation or other related field.

  • Two or more years of professional marketing experience in higher education and/or in a recreation/wellness setting.

  • Experience with administration of social media platforms.

  • Experience in leading, mentoring, and staff development

  • Experience with in-house digital media production to include video content.

  • Experience with assessment efforts and data analysis.

  • Experience developing marketing and branding strategies using several disciplines (text, design, video, etc.) and media (guides, research, infographics, etc.)

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$40,000+/Annual depending on experience, Full-Time, Benefited, Exempt

Work Schedule/Start Date

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, occasional evenings and weekends.
