A role in Property Management means the opportunity to maximize the performance and longevity of Target's assets while delivering value, reliability and brand integrity. Leverage and stretch your skills, whether your focus is energy and waste sustainability, electrical, plumbing, fire and security, smart buildings, HVAC, refrigeration, fixtures and finishes or interior and exterior service operations.

The Director Energy & Sustainability, Property Management, leads a high-performing, diverse and engaged team responsible for Target's Energy & Sustainability programs. This role leads all of Target's utility programs (Electrical, Water, Natural Gas) together with Sustainability initiatives to achieve our commitment to 100% Renewable Electricity, Industry leading Rooftop Solar, Offsite Wind & Solar renewables, Green Power Utility partnerships, and Electric Vehicle Charging expansion. This leader manages the utility operations across hundreds of utilities, delivers exceptional vendor management capabilities, and develops industry leading strategies and insights that guide energy procurement strategies and energy reduction initiatives. This Director provides oversight, guidance and is responsible for the team delivering expense and capital programs through budgets, forecasts, long range plans, and ongoing financial support for all of Target's energy related initiatives.

This leader drives energy analytics, capital project management, and key reporting capabilities from ongoing financials to periodic carbon tracking. They are an active collaborator, strong developer of talent and tireless advocate for the team, as well as a strong negotiator, continuous learner and Energy Industry expert. This leader demonstrates strong relationship skills in working with leaders across Property Management, Target Properties, and other pyramids including Finance, Engineering, Community Relations, Government Affairs, Store Operations, and Supply Chain. Additionally, this role builds key external partnerships with utilities, industry leaders, and regulatory or governmental agencies.

About You:

  • Bachelor's Degree, BA/BS (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum 7 years overall business experience with a preference for energy industry experience and strong operational acumen
  • Experienced team leader, coach and developer of talent with Cross-functional team leadership
  • Ability to manage projects, set timeliness and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical, financial, reasoning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to negotiate in tough situations with both internal and external groups
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to maximize relationships - team player/inspires others/takes partners across all levels of the organization and with external partners
