Looking for an individual with Industry Experience who can elevate the department to a higher level.
Job Summary:
Responsible for managing a large commercial Floorcovering Division. Responsible for overall project planning and scheduling, resource recruiting and allocation, project budgeting and control, and department revenue and margin goals while providing technical direction, mentoring and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Major Duties
  • Develop and manage Commercial Floorcovering Division.
  • Oversee revenue and margin goals and initiatives for division, while working with project management and sales staff to achieve positive margin and sales goals on all projects.
  • Oversee Soft Flooring business development while increasing market penetration in Minnesota and some out of state work in select markets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with soft flooring (carpet, vinyl, wood, etc.) mills and manufacturers.
  • Develop and maintain labor resources and strategies to execute work in the field.
  • Develop, manage and lead the department Project Mangers, Assistants, Coordinators and other staff accordingly.
Senior Project Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee construction projects from start to finish including planning, directing and coordinating all or part of the project.
  • Performs a key role in bidding, project planning, scheduling, material procurement, budgeting and identification of resources needed for soft flooring division installation and closeouts.
  • Project accounting functions including managing the budget, completing quantity check take-offs, tracking of team expenses and minimizing exposure and risk in the project, quantity and cost estimating along with bidding.
  • Ensure the construction activities move according to predetermined schedules.
  • Devise project work plans and make revisions when need arises.
  • Communicate effectively with the contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project.
  • Overseeing the procurement and delivery of materials, tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate the efforts of all Grazzini Brothers & Company parties involved in the project which could include estimators, drafts people, and field personnel.
  • Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis including periodic inspection of the construction sites and completion of Labor Reports on a regular basis.
  • Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, timeliness, and quality and safety standards.
  • Assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results impacting staff, costs, and/or quality of service.
  • Ensure project documents are complete and final payment is received.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
  • 4 year Bachelor's degree. A degree in construction management is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in soft flooring construction projects, including project management.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as plans and project specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities within established deadlines.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Good client management and goodwill building ability.
  • Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
  • Strong focus on quality.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with Sage 300 accounting and WinEst estimating software is preferred, but not required.
