The primary responsibility of the Manufacturing Engineer is to develop & implement the required manufacturing of our new filter production unit. This covers the manufacturing process from the principle flow & layout to the detailed machines design and URSs in close cooperation with suppliers.
The Manufacturing Engineer will support the cross functional sub-project team "process & machines" to development and implement a brand new state of the art manufacturing process delivering the product quality at production cost required. This includes as well the development and implementation of inline test equipment and methodologies in cooperation with our quality experts.
- Design and implementation of the state of the art new machine technology to produce filter in our location in Portage
- During the ramp up phase constant monitoring & improvement of manufacturing line performance with the goal to achieve constantly defined process capabilities & machine technology driven efficiency performance targets.
- Apply good practice Project Management and follow the Life Science Early Equipment Management process
- Close cooperation with Tech transfer & product design group, capturing the product requirements from the as a design input & providing feedback to design to manufacturing (adjust the part design to ease the production process)
- Developing full line layout and manufacturing steps and flow of production
- Writing of URS (User Requirements Specification) as a base for our machine & equipment orders
- Design, create and execute the needed Validation protocols to approve the equipment from supplier FAT to customer approval. (IQ, OQ, PQ,)
- Familiarity of ISO Class 7 cleanroom operation along with microbial testing.
- Support and or entertain needed proof of concept tests
- Check and consider for the machine design sustainability aspects to reduce our Carbon foot print to achieve the Saint-Gobain Carbon goals.
Required Qualifications
What will you bring:
- BS degree in Engineering, related field or Technical degree, as well as a minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment; Required
- Result driven experience in working with complex tooling and a record of process improvements; Preferred
- Experience with project management; Preferred
- Experience with equipment qualifications or process qualifications; Preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team and works independently
- Experience with writing URS for equipment; Preferred
