Job Responsibilities:

Position Summary: This position provides pretrial case management of repeat intoxicated driving offenders for the Circuit Courts of Waukesha County.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor bail conditions of defendants ordered by the Court into the Intoxicated Intervention Program to include scheduling and providing weekly supervision in the office.
  • Provide accurate and complete written reports to the court to include regular updates as well as non-compliance
  • Conduct and record random drug testing on participants.
  • Work as a team, sharing all aspects of caseload responsibilities, to include but not limited to: conducting intakes, writing court letters, obtaining essential court case information, ongoing CCAP checks, treatment updates, meeting with participants, and staffing cases.
  • Maintain accurate participant records to include detailed documentation of all contacts with participants, referrals made and all pertinent information related to all pending cases.
  • Maintain on-going communication with treatment providers to assure participant compliance and open communications with counselors.
  • Conduct drug testing within the Waukesha Court Service Programs.
  • Occasional Weekend drug and preliminary breath testing as scheduled, Saturdays 7:00am to 10:00am(not during pandemic).
  • Attend and volunteer at the Waukesha County Victim Impact Panel at least one time per year.


  • Job Qualifications:
    Work Relationship and Scope: Reports directly to the Program Supervisor and Program Director. Has contact with a wide variety of individuals including criminal defendants, courthouse personnel, treatment providers, various criminal justice agencies and other WCS staff.

    Personal Attributes: Follow agency Code of Conduct; adhere to established policies and procedures of the agency and of all funding sources; conduct self in an ethical manner; maintain professional and respectful relationships with program staff, other WCS staff, participants and all external persons and agencies involved with service provision; sensitivity toward cultural, ethnic and disability issues; demonstrate commitment to agency values and mission.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System; familiarity with current OWI laws; knowledge of local AODA treatment programs and assessing agencies in charge of Driver's Safety Plans; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations; sensitivity toward cultural, ethnic and disability issues; good organizational, computer and typing skills; ability to read and understand drug testing results and their implications; good judgment; effective use of time; and must be trained in all WCS required Evidenced Based Principals within 90 day of hire and follow models for fidelity established by the agency.

    Working Conditions: Most of the work will be done in the office, requires occasional trips to the courthouse to drop off court letters, gather pertinent casework information and provide a presence in court on Fast Track Tuesdays; required to meet with clients at our Milwaukee office; observe and supervise clients' drug screens; clients may exhibit disruptive behavior.

    Physical Demands: Duties require good hearing and the ability to communicate verbally; hand and finger dexterity for data entry and typing; involves some driving between Waukesha and Milwaukee County.

    Minimal Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work or other related field; possess a valid Wisconsin Driver's License and insured auto; must pass criminal background check.
