Sales Representative

Department: Sales and Service

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Sales Manager

Work Schedule: 1st shift

POSITION SUMMARY

Sales representatives are responsible for improving the sales of company products in each assigned account. They are responsible for directing, controlling and evaluating the delivery and merchandising activities at assigned accounts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct a sales call on all assigned accounts on the proper day and in the established sequence.
  • Make calls on new accounts within your area and establish a working relationship with them.
  • Consistently promote the sale of company products through personal selling efforts and regular contact with your accounts.
  • Ensure all displays within your accounts include the applicable POS.
  • Consistently work to improve profitability through product pricing.
  • Consistently pursue new product placements within your account base.
  • Secure primary locations within accounts for POS materials.
  • Monitor product pricing to ensure parity between competitive products.
  • Plan and coordinate on-premise promotions within accounts.
  • Maintain and operate your tablet unit proficiently and with regard to its safety.
  • Efficiently and correctly complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Build and maintain a working relationship and open communications with the owners, managers and employees of your accounts.
  • Demonstrate a sincere interest in the business success of each of your accounts.
  • Have a positive attitude about General Beverage and all fellow employees when in discussion with retailers.
  • Maintain open communications with managers and all fellow employees of General Beverage.
  • Dress and maintain your personal appearance in a professional manner and according to company policy.
  • Conduct your activities according to the requirements of company policies and procedures.
  • Report all accidents and/or injuries immediately to your Supervisor, HR or the General Manager.

Education : High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience : Beverage and sales experience preferred

Certificates & Licenses

Hold a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work will be conducted inside accounts that include liquor stores, grocery stores, convenience stores, taverns and restaurants. Some time will be spent inside of coolers. A portion of the day will also be spent outside and on the roadways, therefore heat, cold, rain, snow and ice can all be expected throughout the year in this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
