Newsroom Support Specialist - Faribault Daily News

Are you detail oriented, a good speller and well-organized? Adams Publishing group may have the position you seek. Due to promotions, we have a newsroom support specialist position available. This position will work directly with the regional editors and provide support by preparing content for publication in our Southern Minnesota newspapers.

You'll process announcements like births, deaths, engagements, and birthdays. You'll confirm the authenticity of letters to the editor, Op-ed columns, and news briefs. You'll work with submitted photos and you'll work with the event calendar and process police reports, and other news items like today in history and content for our special sections.

If time allows, you'll also assist the regional editor with the coordination of freelance reporters and photographers.

It's a busy job with multiple deadlines for our many publications. We'll train you to utilize our content management system, but you should have a good working knowledge of standard software like word, excel, etc.

Your schedule will be determined by deadlines but generally your hours will be daytime hours, Monday - Friday.

This is a fun job that will keep you busy and give you insight into the inner workings of a newspaper. There is growth in many directions from this position.
