We are currently seeking a Machining Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Racine, WI. Our 600,000+ square foot manufacturing plant is located just 30 minutes south of downtown Milwaukee and 30 minutes north of Gurnee, Illinois. In this role, you will be part of a team of engineers responsible for improving worker safety, product quality, manufacturing efficiency (delivery and cost) through analyzing current methods, new methods, new technologies and cost reduction activities in selected areas. Responsibilities

  • Develops, designs and plans equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities.
  • Evaluates worker productivity and recommends improvements to increase manpower efficiency and operating performance, reduce waste and delays, and promote cost control/reductions.
  • Develops metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output, and identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks.
  • Establishes accident prevention measures, and plans and schedules training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operation and ensures compliance with established industry safety and design standards and guidelines.
  • Determines facility specifications, including analysis and evaluation of location, material resources, and structural design.
  • Resolves technical problems and recommends production improvement.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other technical discipline
  • 3+ years of experience providing manufacturing engineering support in a machining manufacturing or industrial shop environment

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Working knowledge of CNC programming with horizontal and/or vertical machining centers
  • Previous experience in Machining Engineering.
  • Experience with M and G code programming is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ProE and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, with a proven record of driving cost savings projects.
  • Good PC skills and proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team as well as independently.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work hours outside schedule shift when necessary to meet or exceed customer expectations.
