The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Quality Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

* Being a team member representing quality and assuring quality on new product development (NPI) projects.
* Leading and supporting quality improvement projects to reduce costs and reduce customer complaints.
* Assessing, developing and validating test methods and performing interlab studies.
* Leading CAPA activities and deployment (8D) and change management activities.
* Representing the customer, evaluating customer complaints and issues, samples and trends, and determining the necessary action plans.
* Championing product and process understanding (PPU) activities.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
* Two (2) combined years of working experience in a product, quality, engineering, and/or laboratory/technical function in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

* Three (3) years of combined working experience in a product, quality, engineering, and/or laboratory/technical function in a private, public, government or military environment
* ASQ Quality Engineer Certification
* Strong demonstrated leadership ability and the ability to lead teams, drive change, and deliver improvements
* New product development (NPI) project experience
* Previous experience leading QA efforts on new product introduction teams
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Manufacturing Plant Experience
* Statistical knowledge and practice (Gage R&R Studies, SPC and Process Capability, Sampling Plans, Designed Experiments, ANOVA and Regression, Process and Product Understanding (PPU), and Lean Manufacturing)
* Test method development and validation experience
* The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and lead change
* Six Sigma Experience, leading Green Belt or Black Belt projects

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
