JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the timely payment of vendor invoices in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may expand to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  • Process invoices and vendor payments.
  • Ensure all invoices have appropriate levels of approval and receiving documentation prior to payment. Work with purchasing and other internal approvers to investigate invoice discrepancies.
  • Review expense reports and credit card statements for necessary documentation and receipts.
  • Vendor account maintenance.
  • Scan vendor invoices and documentation into electronic workflow.
  • Participate in month and year end closings.
  • Prepare audit schedules as needed.
  • File sales tax returns.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned.
  • Serve as backup to reception as needed.
  • Other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate or bachelor's degree, or equivalent course work, preferred.
  • Prior accounts payable experience, preferably in a manufacturing company.
  • Working knowledge of sales and use taxes.
  • Familiar with general ledger accounting systems.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
  • Basic understanding of the principles of bookkeeping and general accounting.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to multi-task a must.
  • Team player, adaptable, and willing to go the extra mile.
