Bind is actively seeking a highly skilled, motivated Healthcare Data Analyst to collaborate in researching, documenting, designing and qualifying Bind Data Engineering system capabilities and features for the Bind insurance processes.

Position includes working with employer, claims, program, reference, provider data as well as understanding the processes and flow of data throughout the platform. Bind is looking for a Healthcare Data Analyst who can work within a team to understand business needs and priorities, and develop corresponding requirements and document scenarios, develop, design and implement ETL processing jobs, validate proposed and coded solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Partner or Lead, as needed, projects to define solutions to data needs, issues, and defects
  • Analyze Bind data to elicit patterns in the data that can optimize the processing and storage of the data
  • Understand vendor and Bind capabilities and data to create data definitions, transformation logic, and data storage options based on business requirements
  • Work with developers to validate data quality and testing of data input/output pipelines
  • Analyze and document new and existing data interfaces within the Bind Data Platform
  • Contribute to the ETL design and development process, providing inputs to analysis and data mapping including some ETL job development
  • Collaborate with product owners, other analysts, and vendors to document complex business logic across both responsibility areas and integration across the platform
  • Partner with developers and testers in an Agile Scrum framework to communicate, refine, and validate requirements and solutions
  • Translate complex concepts to messaging that can be understood by broader audiences
  • Participate in user acceptance testing to validate that solutions meet requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • BA or BS degree in Statistics/Math/Computer Science/Economics or Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
  • 4+ years of experience with developing with SQL and/or Databricks with an understanding of data structures and data storage
  • 3+ years of experience in analytics with proven quantitative orientation including solid problem solving, technical and data analysis skills
  • Experience with general purpose programming including but not limited to: Java, Python, C#
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience in a healthcare environment with HIPAA requirements
  • Experience working with large data or data mining
  • Experience converting analysis to solutions, mapping and documentation
  • Experience with data taxonomy structures (clinical) and their uses
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum and other SDLC methodologies
  • Experience with Cloud/AWS environments
  • Expertise in troubleshooting complex data questions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently to identify, solve and communicate data processing, storage and structural challenges
  • Ability to distill multiple concepts to define and simplify requirements
  • Ability to successfully operate in an environment that includes ambiguity and change
  • Familiarity with health care industry concepts (encounters, episodes, members, cost of care, etc.)
  • Familiarity with database design principles
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a highly dynamic environment, solid problem solving skills, exceptional attention to detail

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $87,900 to $156,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
