Job Description

Lead the delivery of medium to large scope project initiatives of moderate to high complexity that often represent cross-organizational and global initiatives. In this role you will plan and effectively manage all aspects of assigned projects including cost, schedule, scope, quality and project resources utilizing the appropriate project management methodologies and tools throughout project life-cycle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting applications within the Financial Services industry (i.e. broker-dealer, asset management, insurance, etc.) and/or Human Resources.
  • Experience working with both on premise and third party SaaS applications.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the successful delivery of medium to large scope projects of moderate to high complexity on time and within budget. Project execution encompasses project concept through post-implementation, including implementation and testing.
  • Manage projects within the company's project delivery framework and utilize company/industry-standard project management methodologies and tools.
  • Accountable for project communications, risk assessment and contingency planning and escalation of critical issues to project sponsor/owner, etc.
  • Work effectively with business partners, vendors, technology and project management staff to develop the project objectives and key deliverables and ensure agreement/adoption by affected constituencies. Identify and tracks key measures of success.
  • Ensure the development of a comprehensive project plan that incorporates deliverables, accountabilities and time lines utilizing the company's project management system for maintaining/tracking project resources, plan and status.
  • Provide regular status reporting on project progress, as defined by company standards.
  • Identify project resource requirements and work with plan sponsors and project leadership to ensure adequately skilled resources are available to deliver on project commitments.
  • Provide leadership to project resources in a manner that ensures timely delivery on commitments/tasks in support of broader project deliverables. Align cross-organizational resources to ensure successful delivery of the project.
  • Provide proactive project communication to project owner. Work to identify cross-organizational interdependencies and ensures appropriate integration to project plan.
  • Manage project financials and forecasts, change control, risk assessment and mitigation, assumptions, issues, decisions and open questions.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in leading medium to large scale projects to successful completion and implementation.
  • Experience with industry-standard project management methodologies and tools that incorporates Capability Maturity Model (CMMi) methods.
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with business and technology partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately translate business and technology needs into well-designed project approaches.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including solid meeting facilitation.
  • Demonstrated capability in standard office and project management applications such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio and JIRA
  • Results-driven and capable of working independently as well as working as part of a cross-organizational team.
  • Previous experience in developing risk mitigation plans in association with assigned projects.
