Summary
The Automation Technician supports production efforts of the company/group by providing technical support to the Grand Forks Potato Processing Plant by operating all automation functions and working closely with the maintenance department to work or manage projects to develop new or existing equipment, instrumentation, and raw materials. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced industrial factory environment and have a thirst for learning new technologies and helping the factory run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
* Assesses and aligns with key stakeholders the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products, or equipment solutions.
* Leads and is accountable for the developments and evaluation of plans and success criteria (often by others) to ensure that project and/or system performance meets business objectives for a variety of projects and activities.
* May lead the development of new or modified components, products, manufacturing processes, materials and equipment.
* Leads/guides teams in establishing the appropriate designs, engineering and execution processes. Responsible for leading the communication of project updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
* Responsible for preparing and gaining alignment on engineering proposals, feasibility studies and vendor/construction packages
Typical Education
Associates Degree or successful completion from a 2 year trade school
Relevant Experience
3+ years related experience and/or training
Other Information
* Experience with the following automation tools: Allen Bradley, Rockwell, Wonderware, Siemens PLC's, etc.
* Strong Automation and Programming experience
* Controls and Instrumetnation experience
* Experience in an Industrial Environment preferred
