Compensation for a Direct Support Supervisor ranges from $17.10-$19.00 per hour! 

Weekend Differential:  $1.00 per hour

Overnight Awake: Shift Differential: $2.00/hour 

Hours: Shifts will vary between early morning, daytime, and pm.  This position participates in an on-call rotation, weekend rotation and holiday rotation.

As a Direct Support Supervisor (aka DSS) you will perform a variety of tasks during the course of your day:

  • Implement and evaluate daily living skills plans for the people we support; this can include: social skills, hygiene skills, self-care skills, financial skills, community orientation and daily living routines
  • Advocate for person-centered planning and provision of services
  • Complete financial and health reports for individuals on your caseload
  • Coordinate social and recreational activities
  • Coordinate medical appointments and communicate care instructions as appropriate
  • Communicate with employees, guardians, family members county case managers, people supported and other stakeholders
  • Supervise direct care staff
  • Provide direct care, this includes:
    • Performing proper hand washing, gloving, masking and following other universal precautions
    • Dressing and undressing the people supported
    • Assisting with oral hygiene which includes brushing teeth, flossing and denture care
    • Bathing which could include bed baths, partial baths, tub or shower
    • Hair care
    • Skin, nail care and shaving
    • Changing linens and making the bed
    • Toileting can range from simple assistance to full assistance
    • Transferring assist to/from bed, chair, wheel chair or toilet
    • Using adaptive equipment lifts, walkers, standers, gait belts, wheel chairs (no use of lifts if you're under the age of 18)
    • Medication administration/passing following proper training (no med passing if your under the age of 18)
    • Working with people supported on program goals and daily living skills
    • Learning and following people supported care plan
    • Food/Fluid intake/output which means measuring, observing and recording
    • Documentation of daily cares
    • Meal preparation which could include grocery shopping or creating lists and menus
    • Housekeeping and laundry
    • Socialization and involvement in activities

*Other duties and responsibilities depending on your shift and specific program*

To help you complete these task we provide all direct care staff with:

  • Positive Behavior Support Training
  • CPR and First Aid Training
  • Medication Training
  • Annual trainings and refresher classes 

Requirements:

  • A desire to work with people with developmental disabilities
  • Prior supervisory experience helpful
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Good Attendance
  • You are not required to be a Certified Nursing Assistant CNA but CNAs are welcome
  • Cleared as a driver for the agency is preferred

This is a Full-time position, working at 34+ hours/week and participating in a on-call, weekend and holiday rotation, providing direct care to people with developmental disabilities.
