Community Options, department of Behavioral Health Services is EXPANDING and has REWARDING openings as a Medicaid Specialist. This position functions to provide assistance to individuals in accessing and utilizing a variety of community resources, and to aid in the development of individual skills to improve quality of life. In addition, promote independent living in the community while making changes toward recovery and management of disability disorders.

This position is eligible for all Community Options Full-Time benefits, to include, Health, Dental, Vision, 401K, Life Insurance, and Paid Time Leave (PLT, upon enrollment eligibility dates). Starting pay is $18.00-$20.00/ hour, Depending on Experience (DOE).

Minimum Qualifications

Requires an associate degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human services, education, child development and family science, or communication science/disorders, and two (2) years of work experience providing direct client services. Must be able to obtain one of the following certifications- IPS, CESP, Certified Brain Injury Specialist, DSP, QSP, CDF within first 90 days of employment (company paid), complete a Mental Health Technician Certification within 90 days of hire date (company paid) and Mental Health First Aid within 30 days of hire date (company paid).

A bachelor degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human services, education, child development and family science, or communication science/disorders may be used in lieu of the two (2) years of work experience and would substitute the requirement to complete the Mental Health Technician Certification.

UNDERFILL OPTION: If unable to find qualified applicants, we will consider under-filling as Medicaid Specialist I. Minimum qualifications require an associate degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human services, education, child development and family science, or communication science/disorders. Must complete Mental Health Technician Certification within 90 days of hire date (company paid) and Mental Health First Aid within 30 days of hire date (company paid). **Preference will be given to applicants that have personal 'life' experience with behavioral health, whether with themselves or others close to them and/or experience working with special populations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, customer service, and networking skills.
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance for the vehicle subject to the statute of the licensing state will be required based on assigned job duties.
  • Ability to work various shifts/hours depending on the needs of the customer.
  • Make ethical and professional decisions.
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and obtain ND Department of Human Service (DHS) pre-employment approval.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health services and supports or community resources.

  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Maintain a professional manner at all times with customers and in the community when representing the company.
