Title: Design Engineer - Aftertreatment Assembly

Location: Stoughton, WI 53589 (Remote)

Duration: 12 Months+

Position Summary:

  • Provide design assistance for moderately complex engineering assignments including products, parts, components, or portions of major projects.
  • Has ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret prints.
  • The technical skills include the ability to make sketches and engineering drawings and have experience using computer applications related to the engineering field.

Responsibilities for this position will include the following:

  • Sketch outline designs and use computer-aided design for detailed design, generating parts lists and specifications Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas.
  • Consult with the marketing department about upgrading the product, failures in service and reducing the cost.
  • Consult with the development engineers about new products and the application of novel technology.
  • Consider various factors of engineering drawings or diagrams, including use of the product, its environment, materials, the economics of production, safety, legal requirements, quality, production requirements, cost and ease of maintenance

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors' degree in engineering required
  • 2-4 years' experience required
  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Team player and detail oriented
  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and complete common computations
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports
  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD)
  • Areas that the manager would prefer experience in:
  • Model and create drawings in Creo (or other relevant CAD software)
  • Windchill (recommended)
  • FEA and CFD capabilities (useful) with Sheet metal design, Welding

Additional information from the manager:

  • Working hours for this position are Monday - Friday with core working hours being 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. There is some flexibility on the start/end times as needed. It is not expected that this hire will need to work any overtime.
  • Position length is expected to last up to 2 years.
  • This is a remote working role until further notice (tentative January 2022 re-opening). When business operations return to normal, it will be expected that this hire be on-site working with the rest of the team. The hire would be a reasonable commuting distance that would allow for a "Hybrid" work environment of both working on site as well as working remote.
  • When the manager is ready to interview, he will first be requesting phone interviews. Candidates whom successfully complete phone screens will be asked for video interviews with the manager and other members of his team.
