Generac Power Systems - Work with the leader in the power industry! Our office in Waukesha, WI is seeking an Engineer II for Electronics Component to join our Clean Energy Solutions (CES) Team.

The Electronics Component Engineer will be involved in the development and manufacturing of CES products including power converters, transfer switches, load management devices and energy storage devices. This person will work closely with the design engineers and manufacturing partners to identify new and replacement electronic components that meet all performance, durability, cost, and lifecycle requirements .

This position reports to the Sr. Manager Engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Act as the Subject Matter Expert for electronic and electromechanical components.
Identify new and replacement electronic components that meet all performance, durability, cost, and lifecycle requirements .
Develop and implement test plans to validate the performance and durability of new electronic and electromechanical components.
Collaborate with manufacturing partners and other engineering stakeholders to optimize product designs for manufacturability.
Develop productive relationships with electronic component suppliers and distributors.
Employ technical design skills to provide design feedback on new products.
Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions for issues identified during the manufacturing process and development testing.
Train, coach, and guide less experienced engineers.
Support product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs).
Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree
2 years relevant work experience
Experience in the design and development of digital/analog boards and systems
Experience with the electronics manufacturing process and PCBA design rules

Additional Skills Preferred:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Experience with renewable energy products

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Ability to apply engineering knowledge and experience to improve products and processes
Ability to solve complex engineering problems
Strong decision-making skills
Excellent oral and written communication

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
