Job Description

Hello, proofreader extraordinaire. Are you ready to assist clients with "their, there and they're" or catch an important missing comma? If you're a detail-oriented proofer who delivers consistently accurate communications, we want to meet you. U.S. Bank, a company committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, seeks a proofreader/copy editor to work with bank colleagues on an array of business communications and marketing deliverables. Using your meticulous attention to detail, you will proof or copy edit materials for internal or external use including emails, sales sheets, e-newsletters, presentations, reports, direct mail letters, digital banners, print ads and more. And because you're a skilled wordsmith and grammarian, you'll craft copy for ads, employee bios or marketing pieces too. In all you do, you'll champion our brand voice and tone.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or related field, or equivalent work experience
* Four to six years of experience in marketing copywriting

Preferred Skills/Experience

* Excellent proofreading prowess to catch grammar, punctuation and syntax errors
* Ability to review copy for brand reputation risks and compliance accuracy
* Understanding of the importance of brand voice and in-house style guidelines when proofreading
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Solid familiarity with AP Stylebook
* Project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a collaborative organization
* Knowledge of writing fundamentals and styles as it relates to all forms of marketing, advertising, content writing and business communications
* Ability to quickly assimilate new information regarding specific product and technical topics and accurately comprehend those concepts
* Proficient computer skills using Adobe Acrobat; Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and eagerness to learn project management software
