YOUR ROLE

  • The Materials Testing Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the logistics into a material testing group and will need to interact with a large group of testing/formulating technicians, engineers and chemists.
  • The Materials Testing Laboratory Technician will be able to learn the use of inventory and supply ordering systems and possess advanced customer service skills.
  • The Materials Testing Laboratory Technician will perform the following functions with a high level of initiative and independence: Order, receive, inventory, and manage multiple laboratory consumables, mechanical test specimens, Henkel equipment/adhesive testing equipment, adhesives and other lab items.
  • Coordinate quality checks on incoming test specimens.
  • Operate test specimen preparation equipment (Metal pretreatment and cleaning equipment) and train workers on this equipment.
  • Coordinate the inspection of calibrated laboratory equipment.
  • Organize and manage multiple inventoried items.
  • Be flexible, as changing task is a part of daily work.


YOUR SKILLS

  • Must have a strong ability to organize and manage multiple inventoried items.
  • Must be flexible, as changing tasks is apart of daily work.
  • Digital skills (eg Excel, Word etc.) required.
  • Have a creative mind which will lead to improvements in laboratory logistic systems (preferred)
  • Experience in operating inventory systems would be an advantage.
  • The salary range for this role is $63,698 to $93,813. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Connecticut. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
