The Microsoft Technology Architect is a subject matter expert that has global accountability for the architecture and design of Microsoft related systems, including Active Directory, Windows Servers, and Azure. This enterprise architecture role is accountable across all American Komatsu businesses including, but not limited to KMC, KAC, MMSI, KEC, F&M, Gigaphoton, KDB and KBI. Ideal candidates will have a strong ability to balance the best practice or solution while recognizing the business objectives and requirements from a financial and security perspective.



Candidates must demonstrate experience balancing multiple projects and tasks while prioritizing workloads to maximize results. This individual will be responsible for self-education on new technologies as they arise and become applicable to the business. Experience presenting IT strategy to business stakeholders at a global executive level is a plus.



Responsibilities:




  • Design and maintain the Azure enterprise architecture for Komatsu group companies - including global sites, multiple business, thousands of users, multiple domains, Azure deployments.
  • Architect and lead deployment of new releases of Azure technologies - plan and execute cloud migrations.
  • Support integration and authentication projects for eBusiness, 3rd party vendor solutions, SSO, cloud hosting.
  • Work with stakeholders, fellow architects, and technical teams to collect business and technical requirements and deliver enterprise level Microsoft solutions.
  • Ability to rapidly gain knowledge of the organizational structure to facilitate work with groups outside of the immediate technical team.
  • Provide support as a final resource for on-call technical support for above mentioned responsibilities.
  • Create and update all technical documentation of all operating procedures as needed.
  • Make technically difficult decisions dealing with mission critical platforms, realizing that errors in judgment or poor performance can have significant impact on business functions and expenses.
  • Maintain standards for installation of infrastructure software / hardware installations.
  • Provide advanced problem-solving skills for problems/questions associated with hardware /software.
  • Work with application development teams to implement the latest best practices and ensure their knowledge of cloud governance vision.
  • Deliver the items above to operational teams and provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to applicable teams


Qualifications:




  • 8+ years of architecture and design experience, bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows server and client operating systems to include Server 2016 and newer


  • strong knowledge of Microsoft's Azure
  • strong knowledge of Microsoft's DNS and DHCP services required.
  • strong knowledge of scripting and PowerShell use to support large amounts of servers, users, and Azure resources.
  • Working Knowledge of Virtualization - VMWare and HyperV, preferred
  • Working Knowledge of SAN and NAS systems preferred.
  • Understanding of interdependence of enterprise applications (SharePoint, Web-based systems, ERP systems, Exchange, etc.) and Active Directory.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud IAAS, SAAS, and PAAS services, specifically Microsoft stack
  • Ability to juggle competing tasks and quickly adapt as business needs are shifted
  • Exposure to infrastructure and application security technologies and approaches
