Maint Tech II 3rd shift

POSITION OVERVIEW: Class 3 - Entry Level. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts. Starts devices to test their performance. Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Initiates purchase order for parts and machines. Repairs electrical equipment. Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Speak and read English

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None required.

COMPUTER SKILLS None but knowledge of MS Excel & MS Word a plus.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Less than 10% required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends. Must be available in times of plant related emergencies. Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required achieving internal and external customer satisfaction.
