Description

The purpose of this position is to assist faculty/researchers with grant writing, editing, and programmatic reporting activities to federal agencies and private foundations. This position will also be responsible for collaborating with researchers, the SMHS Grants and Contracts Officer, and appropriate University of North Dakota offices and personnel in order to write and submit grant proposals and prepare and submit programmatic progress reports.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty/researchers with identifying, researching, and evaluating new funding opportunities
  • Assist faculty/researchers with developing grant proposals for submission to federal, state, and private funding agencies
  • Work closely with the SMHS Grants and Contracts Officer, affiliated University of North Dakota offices, regional constituents, and funding agencies in the submission of grant proposals programmatic reporting
  • Identify and comply with all grant reporting requirements as may be required by the University of North Dakota, the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and external funding agencies

  • Ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals and documents
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, researchers, and others in various disciplines
  • Strong editing skills with attention to English language grammar, syntax, and spelling
  • Strong contributor in team environments
  • Ability to work independently, while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments, ensuring attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of research and other relevant information
  • Strong organizational and record keeping skills

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Biomedical Science or related field
  • Experience with computerized preparation and assembly of complex documents including figures, images, and text
  • Experience working in deadline-driven environments
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with federal grant structure and compliance requirements
  • Experience with preparation of large multi-investigator extramural grants

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$60,000+/year, Full-time, Benefited, Exempt

Work Schedule/Start Date

Regular work hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Some occasional weekends may be required.
