As Vice President of Finance, Controller, this individual is responsible for planning and managing the accounting and financial reporting systems for the Bank. The Controller is directly responsible for maintaining accurate accounting systems that provide for effective management of the Bank's financial condition and performance. Development of the annual budget and projections, preparation of monthly financial statements, interest rate and other risk reports, quarterly and annual reports to regulators and Board of Directors. Administration of the Bank's Investment portfolio, implementing and monitoring appropriate asset and liability management systems. The incumbent must possess a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory accounting and how these principles effect the management of the Bank. Opportunity to become Chief Financial Officer (CF) based on experience. 
Compensation will be determined by individuals experience and credentials. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
* Continuously improve the financial infrastructure, operational controls and integrity/quality of financial metrics. 
* Develop, implement and manage internal control requirements. Pursue and implement best practices for planning, executing, reporting, and analyzing business performance. 
* Prepare and coordinate the annual budget and 3-year strategic plan with all departments as well as review accounting activities and reports for accuracy and integrity. 
* Prepare and present financial, budgeting, and planning reports to the Board. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress on long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts, 
* Provide the analytical framework to enable informed business decisions that identify trends early to capitalize on opportunities and manage risk. 
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with multiple tasks, demanding timelines and make concrete decisions. 
* Maintain the fiscal record keeping system to properly reflect the financial position of the bank in accordance with GAAP and applicable tax and regulatory requirements, 
* Proactively advise the CEO and Board by extracting and clearly communicating conclusions from key indicators, metrics, and analyses.
* Establish and implement a comprehensive framework of bank policies, standards and practices that will ensure an appropriate level of consistent financial controls in line with Board and management expectations and regulatory requirements. 
* Manage the annual audit and maintain relationships with internal and external auditors and provide timely information to each constituent, as required. 
* Supervise management of the bank's cash and liquidity positions. Direct a balance sheet management strategy and lead the Asset/Liability Committee. 
* Primary responsibility for the investment portfolio including selection, purchase and periodic portfolio re-structuring activities. 
* Coordinate all fiscal responsibilities including vendor payments, receivables, payroll, deposits, loan tracking, and fixed assets. 
* Participate in Human Resource oversight of employee insurance and benefits programs 
* Keep abreast of industry changes, emerging issues and regulatory requirements 

Job Requirements and Qualifications: 
* Honesty and integrity 
* 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience 
* Possesses exceptional interpersonal skills and outstanding verbal and written communication abilities. Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations. 
* Excellent ability to build strong relationships throughout the bank generating excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment - helping others to get a clear picture 
* Attention to detail, problem solving skills and the ability to make sound financial decisions, as well as flexibility and professionalism 
* Must be PC literate and knowledgeable of spreadsheet and word processing software. Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods. Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills. 

Education: 
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a similar field. Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other advanced degree, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) a plus.
