Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with key Architecture and Development personnel to technically design solutions that meet defined contractual or project needs
  • Involves strong technical knowledge and the ability to brainstorm, analyze, communicate, and break down technical implementations
  • Serve as lead BA in working as the liaison between IT Organization and key stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and specifications from users, assist in the design and development of technical solutions, and ensure the technical solutions meet the user's needs
  • Mentor other Business Analysts on key aspects of running large initiatives projects- involving, but not limited to, design, planning out epics and detailing future work, eliciting requirements, and sequencing work
  • Mentor other Business Analysts on configuration work, either configuration work within large projects/initiatives, or within the overall configuration process
  • Coordinate and implement process flow and functional improvements to increase user efficiency within LHI's applications
  • Prepare detailed program specifications and coordinate system implementations with various departments to ensure satisfactory results are achieved
  • Provide escalation path for MedNet (internal database) "help desk" on complex issues and answer user questions as needed
  • Assist in testing new system functionality before it is implemented to ensure it meets business and user requirements
  • Train users in efficient and effective use of MedNet and other systems

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in business analysis and/or gathering business requirements
  • Understanding of complex database structures and relationships
  • Demonstrated successful implementation of large-scale projects/initiatives - able to understand complex business processes that cross many functional operational units
  • Experience working as a liaison between IT and the internal user community
  • Solid knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Solid knowledge of relational databases (tables, joins, key fields)
  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office programs
  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense eQuip Form SF86

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science MIS, Business, or other related field
  • Understanding of Agile principles and software development methodologies
  • Understanding of Microsoft Visio
  • National Career Readiness Certificate
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail is essential as are excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand complex concepts of software setup, configuration, and customization, especially the relationships between database tables
  • Ability to complete a project in a timely manner
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of personnel and management and be able to effectively perform assigned duties in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
  • As a requirement of UnitedHealth Group's contract with the Department of Defense, this position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense eQuip Form SF86, (the National Agency Check Legal and Credit or NACLC). Successful completion of the NACLC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role. NACLC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense. Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received. Failure to obtain final NACLC approval will result in termination from this role.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $71,400 to $127,400. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
