Compliance, Legal, & Regulatory Relations Technology has embarked on an ambitious Risk Transformation program and as part of that we are looking for an Application Engineer who will be part of the application support and development team and be responsible for assisting with supporting existing platforms that manage business processes and reporting in the Financial Crimes and Anti-Bribery & Corruption area.

We are looking for an Software/Data Engineer with experience in design, implementation and support of enterprise systems, handling business workflows, reporting and integrations with upstream systems. The candidate would support design, implementation, production support and monitoring. The candidate will work closely with the Corporate Risk Governance organization in building and supporting an enterprise platform. This is a unique opportunity to make a huge impact to Risk and Finance organization as various transformational projects are implemented.


Position Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes

  • Acts in the technical role as an individual contributor for the most complex computer applications and/or application initiatives.
  • Utilizes a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs.
  • Drives and participates in design and implementation of large software solutions.
  • Analyzes highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications.
  • Works closely with developers and testers to ensure requirements and functional designs are translated accurately into working technical designs and that test plans and scripts meet customer needs.
  • Works with developers and business partners to understand application defects, performance problems and data anomalies.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of financial services industry experience
  • 2+ years of MS SQL server experience
  • 2+ years of experience with Agile in a development environment
  • 2+ years of experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) concepts
  • 3 + years of experience developing Single Page Architecture (SPA) web application using JavaScript, Angular or a combination of both



Desired Qualifications

  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Knowledge and understanding of compliance risk in the financial services industry
  • Ability to design, develop, and implement large scale/complex software applications
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology testing: unit, regression, integration, and stress performance testing
  • Ability to facilitate design sessions
  • Experience using business knowledge and critical thinking skills to deliver upstream and downstream project impacts
  • Advanced problem solving and technical troubleshooting capabilities
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret large datasets



Other Desired Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Java experience or .NET experience
  • API programming experience with XML, REST or JSON
