Overview

This is a part-time unbenefited postion in the Gift Shoppe. Hours are variable, weekends are as needed and no holidays.

Under the supervision of the Foundation Director, supervises the JRMC Gift Shoppe activities to ensure appropriate and financially sound activities that support the needs of its customers and financially benefits JRMC Foundation.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility, authority and accountability for successfully supervising the JRMC Gift Shoppe.
  • Recruits and trains Gift Shoppe Chair or Co-Chairs to help manage operations, buying, inventory, volunteer recruitment and training.
  • Recruits and trains volunteers to work set store hours, check-in inventory and work events.
  • Reviews merchandise trends and shop needs to develop buying plans and frequent movement of inventory that meets the interests of staff and guests.
  • Maintains comparative buying to ensure competitive cost of merchandise while increasing Gift Shoppe revenue on an annual basis.
  • Changes store window and bay displays on seasonal or semi-monthly basis.
  • Determines a pricing model that includes freight, overhead costs, and efficient markdowns while keeping a goal margin.
  • Ensures that inventory levels are appropriate and that merchandise arrives on a timely basis.
  • Designates duties and assignments of volunteers during their shift to ensure a clean and organized store.
  • Highly proficient with the inventory and POS systems to provide cashier training.
  • Works closely with the Accounting Department and the Gift Shoppe Co-Chair to ensure appropriate financial records and reports.
  • Provides monthly sales report to Foundation Director.
  • Oversees the shift receipts and cash envelopes to be sure they are done according to policy by maintaining sales records.
  • Leads year-end inventory.
  • Maintain accurate and current vendor file; merchandise received with packing slips and submitting invoices for payment.
  • Maintains an awareness of shoplifting potential and acts to prevent theft.
  • Addresses any customer complaints or requests; ensuring exceptional customer services.



In Addition to Major Tasks and Duties:
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by the Foundation Director.
  • Abides by JRMC Marketing standards.
  • Hosts occasional retail events or extended hours.


Qualifications

Work requires a minimum of three to five years of retail experience ability to coordinate volunteers and events. Customer service and retail experience preferred. Must be proficient understanding basic Point of Sale (POS) and inventory system.

Three to five years of working sales, events, retail or similar field. Education or training in a specialized body of knowledge related to the job. Must have excellent planning, organization, communication, and follow-up skills.
