Minnesota Native Landscapes, a leader in ecological restoration, has an opening for a Project Manager, Construction position. The Project Manager, Construction directs and oversees the implementation of small-scale ecological construction projects, generally projects with revenue under $150,000. Project completion may utilize multiple services, in a wide variety of settings, while ensuring safety, efficiency, and craftsmanship. This position is responsible for all stages of a contracted project, from submittals and change orders to customer meetings and the overall successful completion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures on-time completion of assigned projects.
  • Completes projects to the highest standards and expectation of the customer.
  • Tracks all project inputs and reviews project performance for profitability.
  • Maximizes crew production time per shift.
  • Manages material acquisition and sub-contractors as needed.
  • Guarantees safe working conditions and actions of all crew under their direction.
  • Compiles all financial reports and 12-month workload projections monthly.
  • Implements and integrates systems for tracking assets, productivity, and profitability.
  • Ensures timely billing and cash flow.
  • Develops new and innovative techniques to perform work more effectively.
  • Continually explores the integration of new technologies, new markets and other industry advances.
  • Posts construction tracking and closeout documents.
  • Communicates daily with construction Logistics Coordinator.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Ecology, Environmental Studies, Natural Resources Management or related fields; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ year experience working in project management.
  • Construction or Landscape background desirable.
  • Strong ability to adapt to changes in project schedules, crew and equipment availability based on the nature of the work and other company logistical challenges.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate many different types of work at once.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a proven commitment to follow-through.
  • Detail orientated.
  • Practical approaches to problem solving.
  • Strong leader with ability to motivator field staff.
  • Proven communication skills with the ability to communicate goals, objectives, and instructions.
  • Ability to work with other Project Managers to ensure the strongest allocation of company resources each day.
  • Ability to operate with a responsible sense of urgency to ensure MNL construction crew members are setup for success each day.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft 365 desirable.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Utilizes basic office equipment, including phones, copy machines and printers.
  • Ability to perform basic project related tasks in uneven terrain and under various weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform light field work as needed.
  • Ability to work long hours when projects/timelines demand.
