Description

The purpose of the Study Abroad Advisor is to help UND students, staff, and faculty navigate the study abroad experience. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Advising
  • Marketing & Promotion
  • Administration of Study Abroad and Faculty-Directed Programs

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Advising
    • Advise students, staff and faculty on the study abroad experience with a focus on specific UND colleges.
    • Provide Pre-Departure Orientation for summer, semester and academic year study abroad students.
    • Maintain communication with students while abroad.
    • Assist with re-entry programming and events.
  • Marketing, Promotion, and Recruitment
    • Serve as lead for the Study Abroad Fair.
    • Coordinate classroom presentations and other campus outreach opportunities.
    • Maintain and update website.
  • Study Abroad Program Administration
    • Collaborate with UND departments, units and colleges to facilitate academic and financial components of study abroad.
    • Collaborate with international partner university and travel service providers on academic and programmatic logistics.
    • Maintain and update application management system.
  • Faculty-Directed Program Management
    • Assist with faculty director training.
    • Assist with the review and selection of faculty and travel service provider proposals.
    • Provider Pre-Departure Orientation for students, staff and faculty participating in faculty-directed programs.
  • Professional Development and Other Duties as Assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience studying, interning, or working abroad
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a higher educational setting advising students and/or faculty
  • Master's degree
  • Experience with management software systems (e.g. PeopleSoft, Via TRM, etc.)
  • Experience developing and managing faculty-directed programs
  • One year of experience working in a study abroad office

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$42,000/Annual, Full-time, Exempt, Benefited

Work Schedule/Start Date

Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm; some evenings and Saturdays for work-related events; and as required to complete duties

Benefits
