Job Summary
Provides Technical Support and performs all Field Technician tasks for Commercial Boilers and Water Heaters.
Responsibilities
Specific Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
- Provides Technical Support
- Boiler and Water Heater technical support via phone call center and e-mail
- Assist Field Representatives and Technicians with retrofitting procedures for new parts
- Field Service evaluations and repairs
- Technical Service trip reports
- Review startup reports and follow up with the Field Representatives/Technicians
- Boiler/Water Heater parts - Assist Customer, Rep/Tech, and in house order entry to select correct parts required based on descriptions/validating with Rep/Tech before order is placed
- R&D support; assisting in the lab as needed
- Providing training in the Patterson Kelley Boiler/Water heater Technical School and in the field
- Supporting Field Operations with performing Boiler/Water Heater running tests
- Writing service bulletins
- Return Authorization (RA) diagnostics and follow-up
- RA testing, evaluation and composing technical reports
- Sending water samples out for composition testing
- Testing and evaluating Boilers/Water Heaters, and component parts returned; completing and filing the technical evaluation reports
- Other duties and tasks as required
- High school Diploma
- 5 years related HVAC experience and/or training
- Working knowledge of Hydronic systems
- Great communication skills and a well-developed interpersonal skill set that will enable the applicant to react positively during less than ideal situations or conditions
- HVAC Technician further education
- Education or Experience
- Associate's Degree in HVAC
- 7-10 years' experience in HVAC type of job, field, or industry
- Interpersonal Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and Product manuals
- Abilityto write routine Technical Reports and correspondence
- Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, and PLM/ERP that enable candidate to develop spreadsheets and word documents in a presentable and understandable format
- Be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Essential Functions
- The ability to access, read and interpret documents and drawings
- The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkers
- The ability to perform several tasks at once
- The ability to follow direction or instruction
- The ability to use a computer to communicate, create, and access information
