Typical Day in the Life

A typical day as a Governmental Accounting Services Manager might include the following:
  • Oversee advisory engagements and special studies.
  • Prepare written reports and review work prepared by other staff.
  • Develop business proposals, project time budgets, and supervise administrative aspects of each assignment.
  • Assist with the training of new or less experienced staff members.
  • Establish and maintain effective client relationships in regard to advisory matters as well as coordinating the delivery services.
  • Develop strong relationships with key client personnel and provide valuable ideas on an on-going basis, while maintaining contact with clients throughout the year.
  • Attend training seminars, professional development and networking events.

 

Who You Are
  • You have experience completing audit and/or advisory engagements.
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • You are a problem solver and possess strong analytical skills.
  • You hold yourself to the highest professional standards and maintain strict client confidentiality.
  • You like developing others and providing constructive feedback to other team members.
  • You are a multi-tasking master, and there has never been a deadline you could not meet.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • In addition to all of this, you have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, have 5+ years of experience in public accounting/audit and previous supervisory experience.

Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.
