Position Overview

The Manager, Operations Training is responsible for leading the team responsible for delivery Operations training solutions and programs. This role is responsible for the training strategy, team leadership, design and deployment of curriculum and learning experiences delivered to Digi-Key Operations team members and potential partners where needed. It also includes oversight of training operations--such as tools, administration, and processes.

This is considered an essential onsite role, which requires regular onsite attendance.  

Must be able to...
  • Develop an overall training strategy and plan and ensure the team is tracking to these plan(s).
  • Oversee the planning, design, development and evaluation of the training programs in support of Operations teams
  • Develop the training intake and prioritization process; monitor the task plans to ensure on-time delivery of learning solutions
  • Set expectations and deadlines for the team; oversee the assessment|evaluation process of training programs, content and facilitators|trainers to ensure training effectiveness
  • Coordinate with other business leaders & teams to set clear expectations and ensure dependencies are met
  • Develop a high-level training strategy, plan and a detailed approach for training
  • Provide training status updates
  • Facilitate resolution of risks/issues
  • QA training content from an instructional design perspective
  • Facilitate the development of training templates & standards
  • Provide guidance on deploying content
  • Create and manage the review process of content (define criteria, design feedback process, manage incorporation of feedback and versions)
  • Communicate training process and progress to leadership and other key stakeholders (as applicable)
  • Develop, monitor and evaluate area performance metrics, dashboards and reports; determine root cause of issues & propose|lead recommendations & implementation for resolution and improvement
  • May facilitate training, and develop curriculum, content as needed

Minimum Essential Qualifications...
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, relevant experience
  • Minimum 3+ years in a supervisory role in Training, Education or a related field; demonstrated leadership capabilities and proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop employees through complex projects in a fast pace environment
  • 6+ years of experience in learning and development
  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design and/or curriculum development
  • 3+ years researching new learning technologies and methodologies in workplace, developing a range of learning designs, training & facilitating
  • Proven track record of driving high-growth for learning and training programs, incorporates instructional design process the needs analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation of training
  • Highly focused on results and providing a structured, systematic approach to delivering learning solutions
  • Experience managing both internal employees and vendors/partners (SOW management, contracts, budgeting, etc.)
  • Familiar with learning technologies and solutions (e.g. CRM, CSM, CMS, and LMS tools)
  • Solid knowledge of pedagogical approaches and curriculum development, particularly for online delivery
  • Excellent written, verbal and facilitation & presentation skills with experience in multi-level audiences
  • Self-motivated individual who takes ownership of problem-solving and works proactively to improve processes
  • Project management expertise, with experience rolling out training plans, including all training logistics and budgets
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, work well under pressure while meeting deadlines, mitigate failure, make decisions, and drive change
  • Adaptability, curiosity, resourcefulness, analytical thinking/problem solving, proactivity, collaboration, technological savvy, and operating with/through a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related learning program software

  • Experience in Electrical Component Distribution industry (Preferred)
  • MBA (Preferred)
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential (Preferred)
  • Association for Talent Development (ATD) certification (Preferred)
