Divine House is currently hiring a Human Service Technicians to work as direct support personnel in one or both of our crisis adult foster care homes in rural Kerkhoven. We have morning, evening and overnight shifts available that do include every other weekend at both of these locations. Each home is licensed to have up to 4 males or females at each site. These sites do pay $16.50 per hour 7am-11pm and $13 per hour 11pm-7am.

A Human Service Technician (HST) must possess basic problem solving skills, have a strong desire to help others, and the desire to improve the quality of life of the individuals they are working with. An HST is responsible for following/implementing an individual’s plans, assist in activities of daily needs such as bathing, dressing, toileting, etc., assisting in instrumental activities of daily living such as shopping, food prep, laundry, etc., and medication administration. An HST must have the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing within the house as well as within the company departments and document in the necessary records. HSTs must also perform daily duties and responsibilities as assigned, such as but not limited to: housekeeping duties, household errands, appointments, shopping, and leisure activities. Each house can vary in the needs of each individual served.

Duties could include:
Administer bedside or personal care, such as ambulation or personal hygiene assistance.
Prepare and maintain records of client progress and services performed, reporting changes in client condition to manager or supervisor.
Perform healthcare-related tasks, such as monitoring vital signs and medication, under the direction of registered nurses or physiotherapists.
Participate in case reviews, consulting with the team caring for the client, to evaluate the client's needs and plan for continuing services.
Care for individuals or families during periods of incapacitation, family disruption, or convalescence, providing companionship, personal care, or help in adjusting to new lifestyles.
Perform housekeeping duties, such as cooking, cleaning, washing clothes or dishes, or running errands.
Instruct or advise clients on issues such as household cleanliness, utilities, hygiene, nutrition, or infant care.
Plan, shop for, or prepare nutritious meals or assist families in planning, shopping for, or preparing nutritious meals.
Transport clients to locations outside the home, such as to physicians' offices or on outings, using a motor vehicle.
