The Trade Compliance team is a subject matter expert in ensuring Digi-Key is conducting importing, exporting, and other sales business in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations but working collaboratively at organizational and departmental levels to support this mission. This internship program will offer a multifaceted approach for gaining insight into what Digi-Key has to offer regarding Global Trade Compliance .

This role will offer a management level overview of Trade Compliance by providing opportunities to learn from and network directly with subject matter experts in Imports, Trade Classifications, R egulatory Global Trade Compliance, and Hazardous Materials but this role's main focus will be Export Trade Compliance.

This is not exclusively an essential onsite role, though may require some onsite attendance .

Responsibilities:

• Be s elf-motivated to independently work on one or more projects impacting Trade Compliance
  
• Actively participate and engage with others to gain an understanding of the subject material
  
• Attend meetings and network with other individuals and organizations within Digi-Key
  
• Assist Digi-Key's Trade Compliance team by performing processes that ensure complianc e with export regulations and international trade laws
  
• Mentor with a passionate & driven Digi-Key Export Trade Compliance Leader , whose desire for you is to succeed in developing your skills and interests
  
• Observe first-hand how Export Trade Compliance works with all areas of the Digi-Key business
  
• Taking on additional responsibilities from Lead(s) o r Export Trade Compliance management
  
• Acts as an internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to Export Compliance issues relating to the assigned program or section area
  
• Acts as a Subject Matter Expert for understanding and communicating regulations issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control, Bureau of Industry and Security, the Department of State, and other relevant agencies as related to Export Compliance and associated system configurations to maintain compliance with above government regulations
  
• Assists with developing, coordinating and recommending changes for the improvement of workflow in the program or section area
  
• Develops methods and procedures for compiling and analyzing data for reports and special projects
  
• Works on special research projects relating to compliance issues
  
• Assists in identifying, coordinating, and providing Export Compliance training across respective business areas
  
• Assists in the development, implementation and execution of appropriate policies, strategies, and procedures to enhance Digi-Key's Export Compliance Program

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Minimum/Essential Qualifications :

• Currently p ursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Communication s , International Business, Economics, Business Administration , Legal and/ or similar area of study or equivalent, relevant work experience
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
• Excellent logic and reasoning skills
