Position Description:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.


Our Community Physicians practice is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support the Community Orthopaedic Surgery services in both a clinical and inpatient setting located in West Bend, Wisconsin at our community clinic West Bend Health Center.

Whether arthritis or a sports medicine injury, orthopaedic conditions require special care and expert attention. At Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin, we are recognized leaders in providing high-level care in every orthopaedic specialty.


We take a multidisciplinary team approach, caring for the whole patient. Our orthopaedic surgeons and specialists have advanced training and broad experience in diagnosing and treating even the most challenging musculoskeletal conditions.


Primary Function/Responsibility

  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams in treatment of conditions requiring Orthopaedic intervention in a blended environment as a member of the Community Orthopaedics services.
  • Writes accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders.
  • Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documents information.
  • Privileged to perform procedures beyond core as identified by the Orthopaedic services.
  • Facilitates and communicates with patient, family and staff to promote continuity of care across the continuum of care.
  • Attend required training and meets key regulatory requirements, including those of the privileging institution, CMS, and the Joint Commission.
  • See patients independently and collaboratively for post-op follow ups, injections, knee and hip pain, fracture care, sports medicine and general ortho
  • Surgical support and some hospital rounding
  • 1:1 work with Dr. Maskala supporting a busy practice; primarily adults but some peds as young as 3-4

Privileged at both Froedtert West Bend (surgery performed) and Froedtert Menomonee Falls (on-call) Hospitals

Minimum Education

Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing

Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies

Preferred Experience

2+ years of Ortho Surgery APP experience
