WDAY-TV has an immediate opening for a Sports MMJ/Reporter

WDAY, the number #1 station in Fargo, North Dakota, is looking for a Sports MMJ/Reporter to join our award winning, five person sports team and work in our multi-platform newsroom. As a Sports MMJ/Reporter, you will be responsible for writing stories for TV newscasts, social media and digital properties. You will conduct interviews, shoot video and edit stories. This position will come with the opportunity to fill-in on the anchor desk and help produce/anchor our weekly half hour Sports Sunday show. WDAY produces over 100 live local sporting events a year. The successful candidate will have exceptional written, communication and organizational skills. Play-by-play experience is a plus. You must have a clean driving record and work well under pressure.

WDAY is an award-winning station, taking home numerous regional Emmys, Edward R Murrow awards and multiple national Edward R. Murrow awards in the last few years. We are a locally owned and operated station covering North Dakota and western Minnesota. We produce over 30 hours of local news each week and have a staff of over 35 journalists working in our news, weather and sports departments.

WDAY has helped launch the careers of many news professionals around the country. We have alumni in many of the county’s top markets including Minneapolis, Denver, Phoenix, Detroit, Chicago, Tampa Bay, Albuquerque, San Antonio and Las Vegas. Fargo is the largest city in North Dakota and borders Moorhead, Minnesota. The metro population is over 220,000. Fargo has a vibrant downtown with many activities and events geared towards young professionals. The community hosts many major concerts, sporting events, and community events throughout the year. There is a variety of styles of apartments to choose from, including several new apartment buildings in several new neighborhoods. The communities have plenty of options for shopping; from local specialty shops to major retailers.
