Job Specifications

Support the Esri GIS platform and associated applications and databases. This includes assisting in application & database maintenance, database design, application configuration, user administration, end-user training, technical literature management, and using scripting for process/workflow automation. This position also favors a detailed understanding of the gas utility industry and GIS's role in adhering to its inherent regulations and operational needs.

SALARY RANGE: $69,800 - $104,800 (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Gas GIS Applications and Integrations Supervisor

LOCATION: This position can be located in Denver, CO, Fayetteville, AR, or our Company Headquarters in Rapid City, SD.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Work under direction of the GIS Supervisor of Applications & Integrations to support the Esri GIS platform and other related applications primarily used to conduct gas utility mapping and associated applications and workflows.
* Support both Gas GIS's Esri Portal and Desktop environments with system administration, user management, upgrades, application configuration and development.
* Support all Gas GIS SDE Geodatabases with tasks including, but not limited to, schema changes, version management, SDE administration/tuning, user access management, and database performance.
* Support Gas GIS's digital as-built solution with backend needs including both LocusView integration and production posting.
* Acquire feedback from end users to improve application functionality and to evaluate training needs.
* Perform sophisticated GIS reporting and analysis.
* Assist with process improvement initiatives.
* Conduct GIS application trainings.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Work closely with IT GIS and database teams with a clear understanding of the separation of duties.
* Work with other IT departments to ensure compliance with security and internal audit rules and policies.
* Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Minimum of (5) five years of configuration, administration, and development experience with the Esri platform stack required.
* Bachelor's Degree in geography or geographic information systems, CAD or computer science required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

* Strong functional knowledge of GIS/GPS technology and concepts.
* Ability to handle, configure, and regulate Esri ArcGIS Online.
* Knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS) with the capability to design and run both file and SDE geodatabases.
* Ability to automate tasks with Esri's Modelbuilder and/or Python.
* Strong computer and programming skills with a solid grasp of the latest IT concepts, technologies and terminology (including Esri technology).
* Understanding of APIs and other system interface techniques.
* Basic knowledge of electric and gas utility business processes, operating standards and construction standards with the ability to understand gas operational and regulatory requirements in order to design, introduce and apply GIS tools to assist in accommodating those needs.
* Excellent presentation/training abilities, and outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
* Effective project management, planning and scheduling skills, while working with multiple departments.
* Ability to work and problem solve independently.

Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of reaching and moving controls exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

Work environment: Routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level. Willing to travel occasionally (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.
