Accounting and Marketing Specialist

Description Robert Half Finance is looking for a Staff Accountant for a full-time opportunity with a reputable company. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, various aspects of internal reporting will be under your responsibility. You will lend your skills to developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.

Key responsibilities

- Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

- Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

- Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

- Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

- Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

- Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

- Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

- Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

- Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

- Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process

- Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested Requirements - Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

- Recent and relevant accounting experience

- Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

- Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

- Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- Competent with spreadsheets and databases

- Proficient in ERP systems

- Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

- Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
